Tell us a bit about yourself and how your brand came to be.

LG

I’m a naturopath and medical herbalist, and over the years of working in the industry I noticed the herbal medicine products that we use were becoming more and more reductionist and clinical and I was yearning to incorporate some grass roots herbalism into my practise.  Creating products with my own hands from whole plants is the balance that I need to be able to feel connected to the basis and history of plant medicine.

What made you want to work with Marina & Ovna Ovich?

LG

I was introduced to Marina through a mutual friend many years ago, since then we have become good friends and over that time I have learned so much from her.  I have the utmost respect for Marina and the way she has chosen to create her offerings.  She puts ethics first and even if that means a more difficult path to the end result she will not compromise.  I jumped at the chance for Wild Love to be associated with such an authentic brand.

Where do you find inspiration and what does your creative process look like?

LG

The plants!  The plant world is just bursting with inspiration.  I’m completely in awe of the natural world and I would love for more people to pause and just take a moment to take it all in.  Usually there is a plant that I want to work with, and so I will create a product around that, hoping that people take an interest, try the tea or balm and hopefully learn to love the plant like I do.

OO Art can positively impact us, or shift our perspectives. Have you found inspiration in anything in the last 12 months that has been particularly meaningful to you?

LG

I’ve been setting up a new home and have been very much inspired by the work of so many NZ makers that I have discovered through collecting everything that I need.  We really have the most incredible talent in this country.  If someone can make a living, or supplement their income, by using their talents to create something beautiful then that must bring them joy right, and I think that’s worth supporting.  Every time someone shows an interest in something I have created it brings a smile to my face, I hope that by supporting other NZ makers I am doing the same for them.

Your favourite thing about winter?

LG

I’m lucky enough to live close to Auckland's west coast beaches, and my absolute favourite thing about winter is the way those beaches are just so wild.  I love to rug up and go for a long beach walk, the stormier the better!
